Yeah, I’m going to personalize this with my own graphics, I’m just being extraordinarily fretty about creating it. Although I DO approve of the irony of a “Mediocre Design Blog” using only the WordPress templates….

Edit: Ho ho ho, nevermind! I’m too cheap to buy the upgrade to “use your own css.” So the irony stands.

Hello, Internets

This isn’t a test post because although I’m new to WordPress, I’m not new to online journals. I’ve lately been posting about work-related items in my personal blog, so I thought, “Wait, self, why don’t we make a blog for our graphic design experiences? Let us!”

There are many very good blogs on the subject, but they’re for high-level web designers or beginners or curious folks, not the mediocre or average.

THIS is for US. Yeah, I’m lookin’ at you, gal who works in a small company, stampin’ out some robust-but-nearly-template designs because your boss prefers ONE style.  This is for you, fellow who tries very hard to “make with the shinies” but can’t quite get the hang of it. This is also for you, higher-level designer, who wants to poke fun at me and/or support your lesser kin. Let us not celebrate mediocrity but instead recognize it and say “Yeah…I can’t do that high-level stuff now, but some day. In the mean time, let’s gripe about clients and our own shortcomings.”

Although I think it would be vaguely ironic if I didn’t personalize the design of this blog, I will actually be doing so a bit later.

So anyway, hello, welcome, arrigato mr. roboto, etc.
